Kuta is full of surprises. and I am full of happiness.
I'll make this brief because I don't have a lot of time. Party calls.
Yesterday morning before we left we had a meeting with a prince. Yep, yours truly met royalty.
His name is Chris. He is now a part of the Solare family!
We met him at a really tasty restaurant, Gula Bali. Here are some highlights:
Nasi Campur
(A sampler platter of sorts with different veggies and cooked meats)
Cool bottle of water
Stone lined bathroom floor
Here are some cool shots we took in Ubud before we left
After that, Brian and I raced to Kuta. We only got lost once!
Hotel lobby
Hotel exterior (Surfer themed)
Upon arrival we quickly unpacked, logged onto wifi (we're addicts) and hit the beach. Views, booze and corn ensued.
The night was only just beginning. African culture was in large effect.
The place is called Red Drum and we just happened to be there one week after they opened and present for the weekly dance party. Live Djembe plus DJ equals awesome party. And the food and drink aren't so bad either. Afro-carribean theme. We danced until 2 in the morning.
Blurry but fun
Not worn out and full of energy, we hit the main strip of Kuta. Pretty much the Las Vegas of Bali. Minus the gambling. Bright lights, pretty women, drunk men. Whew! Party party!
And the requisite trashed bathroom. I saw people walking barefoot into these stalls!
Ok. Sleep. recharge. Drink coffee. Eat horrible hotel buffet. Go again.
This time it was to Uluwatu. Super cool surf spot on the extreme southwest of Bali.
Here is Pedang Pedang, famous surf spot literally underneath a temple with steps carved through a rock down to the beach. Gorgeous. And the women are beautiful too....
Monkeys!
View from above
And not to be outdone, a cool spot down the way. Awesome views from a bar high on the cliffs.
Respect Locals!
Until tomorrow!
